2018 NFL Mock Draft: Los Angeles Rams select Donte Jackson first round
By Dan Parzych
Just when it seemed like the Cleveland Browns couldn’t hit a new low this season, the team joined the Detroit Lions on the wrong side of NFL history by going an entire year without winning a single game. Sure, the Browns were expected to go through a year of rebuilding, but Hue Jackson’s squad finally seemed to be moving in the right direction after a successful offseason, which obviously wasn’t the case.
Once again, the quarterback position ended up being a major issue for Cleveland since there’s still uncertainly surrounding DeShone Kizer, and whether he actually has what it takes to be a starter at the NFL level. Year after year, the Browns always seem to pass on a quarterback that would have been a great fit, but it’s time to put an end to that frustrating luck by using the top pick on Sam Darnold.
From his solid accuracy to mobility with the football, there are plenty of reasons why Cleveland would be thrilled to have someone like Darnold on board to potentially build the franchise around. Whether the Browns like it or not, the only way to finally begin moving in the right direction is to find a reliable quarterback to work with, and Darnold simply has too much potential to pass on.
