51. . Cornerback. LSU. Donte Jackson. 23. player

As mentioned before, the Rams’ defense was considered one of the best in the league thanks to Wade Phillips getting the best from the unit during his first year as defensive coordinator for the team. With that being said, it’s going to be an interesting next couple of months for this defense when looking at all of the uncertainty surrounding the cornerback position since a lot could change moving forward.

Between trying to lock Trumaine Johnson up to a new deal to all of the uncertainty surrounding Kayvon Webster while he recovers from an Achilles injury, it’s easy to understand why Los Angeles may end up playing it safe come April when it comes to the cornerback position. After working their way into becoming serious contenders in the NFC, the last thing the Rams want to do is suffer a major setback at the position next year if things don’t go according to plan.

When looking at Donte Jackson, and his speed, at least drafting the LSU star would provide some extra depth to the position just in case. The potential is certainly there for Jackson, and just like other players have learned over the years, learning from a mastermind like Phillips could help bring the best out of the cornerback.
