. Cornerback. Auburn. Carlton Davis. 32. player. 47

Depending on what happens with certain players like Malcolm Butler in the offseason, the New England Patriots could be searching for a new cornerback by the time April rolls around, whether they want to admit it or not. A few years ago, Butler was considered the hero a few years ago when he recorded that amazing interception in the Super Bowl when facing the Seattle Seahawks, but the circumstances are much different this time around.

Based off how New England was willing to consider trade options for Butler a year ago, it will be interesting to see how things play out over the next few months since the cornerback will most likely be searching for a big payday. And if that does end up happening on a different team for Butler, the Patriots may not have that much time to find a replacement, which is why Carlton Davis could end up solving a lot of issues for this team.

The Auburn cornerback has proven over the years that he’s capable of handling any receiver he’s matched up with, and New England would love the opportunity to bring him on board with the intention of bringing out the best in Davis. Some teams may not be sold on Davis, but early signs indicate he’s going to be a fine NFL star.
