With the Philadelphia Eagles making the major leap to Super Bowl champions, there’s every reason to believe the Los Angeles Rams can do the same next season.

As the Philadelphia Eagles enjoy their first Super Bowl title in franchise history after defeating the New England Patriots, it’s safe to assume the Los Angeles Rams were watching the game wondering what could have been after all of their surprise success last season. Originally, the Rams were expected to go through a year or two of rebuilding while Sean McVay adjusted to being the new head coach, but that was obviously far from the case after the team went on to win the NFC West title.

Losing to the Atlanta Falcons in the Wild Card Round of the playoffs was a tough pill to swallow at the time, but also at the end of the day, this loss can be used as a learning experience for Los Angeles. As great as it was to see the Rams earn a trip to the postseason one year after winning just four games, keep in mind there were some concerns heading into the game against the Falcons from an experience perspective since the playoffs are a whole new ball game. And with Atlanta earning a trip to the Super Bowl the year before, it was obvious Los Angeles was at a disadvantage in this department when seeing the outcome of the game.

With that being said, the Eagles were also a team that was inexperienced for the most part during their Super Bowl run, yet still found a way to overcome the difficult challenges standing in their way ranging from key injuries to being labeled as underdogs every game, despite being the top seed in the NFC. For a team like Philadelphia that seemed to be just as much of a mess as Los Angeles a few years ago when looking at the fallout from Chip Kelly, the Rams will hopefully look at what took place for the Eagles last season as motivation to be successful in 2018.

If a team like the Eagles can win the Super Bowl with a second-year head coach in Doug Pederson, why can’t the Rams do the same with McVay? Talent wise, Los Angeles is loaded with enough weapons on both sides of the football to make a run at the Super Bowl, and seeing Philadelphia hoist that Lombardi Trophy shows anything is possible in the NFL, including the Rams potentially finishing as champions next season.
