Los Angeles Rams: 3 reasons Allen Hurns makes sense for 2018
By Dan Parzych
Now that he’s available following a release from the Jacksonville Jaguars, here are three reasons why the Los Angeles Rams should consider signing Allen Hurns for the 2018 season.
With Sammy Watkins recently joining the Kansas City Chiefs in free agency, the Los Angeles Rams find themselves in a position to possibly add another wideout before April’s NFL Draft rolls around. Sure, the argument can be made that Sean McVay could easily take the “next man up” approach with someone like Josh Reynolds, but with Allen Hurns all of a sudden becoming available, the Rams may want to at least consider the possibility.
Seeing the Jacksonville Jaguars part ways with Hurns after losing Allen Robinson to free agency may seem like a surprise to some since Blake Bortles clearly needs all of the help he can get in the passing game after last year. But also, when seeing how the production by Hurns has been down over the last two seasons after the former Miami star caught just 74 passes for 961 yards with five touchdowns in just 21 games while dealing with some injuries, it’s more understandable why the Jaguars were willing to move on.

Of course, just because things didn’t turn out well for Jacksonville doesn’t necessarily mean teams will avoid Hurns, as the wideout is expected to draw heavy interest now that he’s available. Only time will tell when it comes to whether the Rams will be one of those teams expressing interest, but to help make a case, here are three reasons why bringing Hurns on board would make sense for the NFC West champions.
