Los Angeles Rams: 3 reasons Allen Hurns makes sense for 2018
By Dan Parzych
3. Potential by Hurns early in career
As mentioned before, when seeing the numbers Hurns displayed over the previous two seasons, it’s easy to understand why the Jaguars were willing to move on from the wideout, and rely on a different group of young receivers heading into 2018, including the recent signing of Donte Moncrief. However, just because Jacksonville was willing to give up on Hurns this early in his career doesn’t mean he still doesn’t have what it takes to have a promising NFL career.
If anything, any teams expressing interest in interest in Hurns will look at the production he displaying in the first two years of his career with the Jaguars, and see how the wideout would be worth the risk. After catching 115 passes for 1,708 yards from 2014-15 while finding the end zone 16 times, Hurns showed early signs of developing into one of the league’s next best receivers.
At 26, Hurns seems to still have plenty of great football left in his NFL career. And if he can convince the Rams or any other team showing interest that he’s capable of returning to that form from early on in his career, one can only imagine the high level of potential surrounding Hurns for 2018 and beyond.
