Against heavy odds, it’s been incredible to see the Los Angeles Rams quickly become Super Bowl contenders under Sean McVay.

When the Los Angeles Rams hired Sean McVay as the youngest head coach in NFL history, there were some concerns over whether the organization was making a mistake since the move seemed like a huge risk. Thanks to the Rams shocking the NFL by going on to win the NFC West in 2017 while going from worst to first in scoring, nobody is questioning the decision to hire McVay anymore, as this team has quickly earned the label of being a serious Super Bowl contender.

Losing to the Atlanta Falcons in the Wild Card Round was beyond frustrating for Los Angeles to deal with last January when seeing how the inexperience factor came into play, but hopefully this will be used as a learning experience to make sure it doesn’t happen again next time around if given the opportunity. If there’s been anything to takeaway from the Rams this offseason, it would be this team is clearly in a win-now mode when seeing all the key moves made to increase their Super Bowl odds, and if all goes well in 2018, there’s a good chance this team will represent the NFC in Atlanta next February.

Around this time last offseason, Los Angeles was considered one of the biggest laughing stocks in the NFL when seeing how they were coming off a four-win season in 2016, and ranked dead last in the league by only averaging 14 points per game. Even when there was some excitement surrounding the hiring of McVay, the Rams seemed like they would be at least one or two years away before the chances of being a contender could even come into play.

But thanks to McVay, Los Angeles has quickly become a team big-name players actually want to come to for a legitimate chance to win the Super Bowl, and it only took one year to happen. Without question, a player like Ndamukong Suh would never have even considered the thought of joining a team like the Rams around this time last year, and McVay deserves all of the credit in the world for pulling the unthinkable of making this team a serious Super Bowl contender in such a short period of time.
