For obvious reasons, Todd Gurley would welcome Odell Beckham Jr. to the Los Angeles Rams with open arms if it were to happen.

As if the offseason hasn’t already been busy enough for the Los Angeles Rams, Sean McVay‘s team has recently been linked to the possibility of Odell Beckham Jr. coming on board as well through a trade, although the asking price from the New York Giants may be a little too high. If the Giants were to end up moving on from Beckham in a trade, they have already made it clear that it will take at least two first-round picks for it to happen, which seems like a bit much for the Rams.

Earlier in the week, it was reported that Los Angeles would at least consider sending New York the No. 23 pick, but throwing an additional first rounder in a trade would be too much for a player like Beckham. Without question, Beckham has proven to be one of the league’s most explosive receivers when healthy, and is an absolute nightmare for opponents to keep in check, but also the thought of him joining an already high-powered offense in the Rams is absolutely terrifying.

For obvious reasons, Jared Goff would benefit the most from another weapon like Beckham since the Los Angeles quarterback was already in great shape from playing alongside teammates in Todd Gurley, Robert Woods, and Cooper Kupp. Speaking of Gurley, when hearing the runner up MVP’s comments over what it would be like to have Beckham, it’s safe to say this could end up working out well for the Rams.

From Gary Klein of the Los Angeles Times:

"But when told that McVay spoke this week about how Beckham, hypothetically, might fit into a high-powered offense that features Gurley and quarterback Jared Goff, Gurley agreed with McVay’s assessment that there are always enough snaps to keep everyone happy."

"“There’s always enough snaps,” Gurley, speaking hypothetically, said with a broad grin. “There’s always enough snaps."

"“If we had him, man, it would be awesome. I’d be happy, Goff will be happy, coach McVay will be happy, [owner Stan] Kroenke, the whole team would be.”"

Unfortunately, as mentioned before, acquiring Beckham is easier said than done since the asking price from New York seems way too high at the moment since Los Angeles would still be in great shape heading into 2018 even if the star wideout didn’t come on board. But at least if the Giants end up getting desperate about wanting to move on from Beckham, and trim their trade offer to only one first rounder, the Rams would feel confident in Gurley and the rest of his teammates welcoming him with open arms.

Talent wise, Beckham is one of the best in the NFL, and the thought alone of McVay designing plays for him would put a smile on every face of Los Angeles fans. Either way, isn’t it amazing to see how far the Rams have come in just one year when seeing how many players are all of a sudden interested in joining the team due to their high chances of being a serious Super Bowl contender?
