After meeting with Tyrell Crosby, it will be interesting to see if the Los Angeles Rams end up going with the Oregon offensive lineman in the 2018 NFL Draft.

With the start of the 2018 NFL Draft officially less than one month away, the Los Angeles Rams are expected to have plenty of great options to choose from at No. 23, whether it ends up being linebacker, offensive line, or even receiver. Unfortunately, this looks like one of those situations in which the Rams won’t decide the position they’re going to aim for until opening night, and see who happens to be available when the team is on the clock.

At the moment, linebacker seems to be the top area in need of improvement for Los Angeles when considering the team lost a valuable leader in Alec Ogletree after trading him to the New York Giants. Luckily, this year’s draft class is filled with plenty of great linebackers, some of which may happen to be available at No. 23 when the Rams are on the clock.

Then again, if Los Angeles decides to wait until one of the later rounds to address their need at linebacker, nobody would really be surprised if the team ended up adding depth to the offensive line, which is where Oregon’s Tyrell Crosby could come into play. This week, Jon Ledyard reported how the Rams actually met up with Crosby, and now the fun part begins over whether this could become a potential fit for the NFC West champions.

Quickness may be an issue, but Crosby possesses the type of body strength that would be a great addition to the offensive line of Los Angeles, although selecting him in the first round may be a stretch since he is expected to go on the second day of the draft. Still, Crosby seems like the kind of player that will get better with NFL experience as long as he receives the right coaching, and when looking at the staff Sean McVay has put together, there’s even more reason to love this possibility.

If last year is any indication of what to expect once the end of April arrives, the Rams should be in for another solid draft class after months of evaluating the best prospects to give them the best chance of living up to the hype to be serious Super Bowl contenders. Whether Crosby will be part of the mix, only time will tell, but at least Los Angeles already expressing interest is a great sign.
