6. Jacksonville Jaguars

That’s right, after all of the years in which they failed to live up to the hype of becoming a serious threat in the AFC, the Jaguars finally came through during the 2017 season by emerging as a serious threat in the conference. In fact, Jacksonville was on the verge of earning a trip to the Super Bowl before blowing a 10-point lead to New England in the fourth quarter of the AFC Championship, although hopefully this can be used as motivation moving forward.

Defense was hands down the biggest difference maker for the Jaguars finding success this past season, as all of the key signing in the offseason paid off in a big way. But as last year showed, the only way Jacksonville can continue this success is if the offense fixes their inconsistency issues, starting with Blake Bortles under center.

The Jaguars did an amazing job by providing Bortles with a solid running back to work with in Leonard Fournette, but the former first-round pick needs to do a better job at finding success from his receivers. Unfortunately, the losses of Allen Robinson and Allen Hurns only adds more pressure on Bortles at quarterback, so it will be interesting to see how this all plays out for the AFC South champions.
