Will the Rams be saying goodbye to those awful Color Rush uniforms?
By Steve Rivera
Will the National Football League be getting rid of Color Rush uniforms for their Thursday Night schedule? Maybe not entirely, but for the Los Angeles Rams, it wouldn’t be the worst idea.
Thankfully for Los Angeles Rams fans, the National Football League looks to be cutting the cord on the absolutely hideous Color Rush uniforms designated for the Thursday Night slate of games.
That said, the NFL Network also reported that they aren’t going away completely, they just might not be exclusive to the Thursday night game.
Color Rush was one of those gimmicky marketing deals that mostly made fans shake their head in dismay as their teams wore some truly awful color combinations. It was also one way to try and lure eyeballs to what was generally considered a pretty weak schedule for the mid-week games that bounced around between the NFL Network, CBS, and NBC.
How the league saw the eyesore as a means to get curious fans to watch some often times bad football is another question. However, with the mid-week game being anchored by FOX, the mustard like color the Rams wore should go to the nearest dumpster to never be worn again.
They were, by every definition, ugly.
Unfortunately, it was also one of only two uniforms that matched.
Los Angeles fans will remember the deserved ridicule the Rams received for the all blue combination the team wore in their win against the Dallas Cowboys.

It was also the last time they were worn. After that game in Dallas, LA went with the white jerseys with the exception of the throwbacks they wore in Week 17 against the San Francisco 49ers.
Either way, whether the Los Angeles Rams don the truly awful again in 2018 will remain to be seen. LA is still planning on rolling out new uniforms to coincide with the opening of the Inglewood facility still a couple of years away.
