Even though the official NFL schedule for the 2018 season won’t be released until Thursday night, the Los Angeles Rams announced they will face the Kansas City Chiefs in Mexico City on Nov. 19.

After the Los Angeles Rams emerged out of nowhere last year during Sean McVay‘s first season while going on to win the NFC West, it’s safe to say this team has finally earned the necessary respect across the NFL heading into 2018. In fact, when looking at all of the key additions made by the Rams this offseason ranging from the signing of Ndamukong Suh to the recent trade to land Brandin Cooks, the Rams have become one of the early favorites to make a serious run at the Super Bowl next year in Atlanta.

Of course, that’s always easier said than done for a team like Los Angeles since this team faces pressure they aren’t used to by playing with targets on their back as serious contenders. Not to mention, the Rams will have one of the league’s toughest schedules at the moment, so it will be interesting to see how this all turns out.

With the NFL announcing that Thursday will be the official release of the 2018 schedule, Los Angeles fans have been anxiously waiting to see what kind of national attention the team receives with prime time after all of the hype. Turns out, the Rams were able to confirm at least one piece of exciting news before Thursday’s release by announcing on Twitter how their game in Mexico City against the Kansas City Chiefs will actually be part of Monday Night Football on Nov. 19.

Thanks to all of the success from last season along with the expectations following all of the key moves during their “win-now” mindset from the last few months, it’s amazing to see Los Angeles earn one of hopefully a few prime-time games. While it was easy to understand why the NFL avoided the Rams in 2017 at first when it came to playing in the national spotlight, that’s no longer the case.

From their high-powered offense to a defensive unit that will consist of Suh and Aaron Donald, Los Angeles is going to be a fun team to watch in 2018. Even if there is a little frustration over playing one less game at home, at least the Rams are used to all of this after playing at least one game in London over the last couple of years.
