If the Los Angeles Rams want to add another linebacker that is all of a sudden available, Mychal Kendricks should be on their radar.

Training camp may still be a few months away for the Los Angeles Rams, but at least fans have something to look forward to in the mean time now that OTAs are underway this week.

After an offseason filled with numerous key additions on both sides of the football ranging from Brandin Cooks to Ndamukong Suh, the Rams have ben making all of the right moves to give them a better chance of living up to the Super Bowl hype.

Even in the recent 2018 NFL Draft, Los Angeles was able to add depth to numerous positions from the offensive line to linebacker. However, as great as it was to see the Rams select players like Micah Kiser and Travin Howard, the argument can be made the linebacker position is still one of the main uncertainties surrounding the Rams at this point in the offseason.

Yes, players like Mark Barron are expected to step up since he’s going to receive more of an opportunity to shine since the defense went through some changes this offseason at linebacker, highlighted by trading Alec Ogletree. But with the Philadelphia Eagles pulling off a big surprise on Tuesday by releasing Mychal Kendricks, the Rams may want to strongly consider signing the linebacker.

Dating back to two years ago, Kendricks has seen his name involved in numerous trade talks by the Eagles, and even though they failed to find a trade partner, Tuesday’s announcement of the release still came as a surprise.

Once again, the high price of the $7.6 million Kendricks was due in 2018 seems to have played a role in the decision by the Super Bowl champions, but the good news for the linebacker is there will be plenty of teams expressing interest right away.

In fact, there’s a good chance some of those teams will most likely act as soon as this week, meaning Los Angeles will need to act fast as well if this were to actually happen.

After winning his first Super Bowl a few months ago, joining a team like the Rams would certainly provide Kendricks with a great opportunity to add a second title to his resume when looking at all of the hype surrounding this team.

Plus, not only would the addition of Kendricks help Los Angeles fill a need at linebacker, but also he would get the opportunity to play with one of the game’s greatest defensive coaches in Wade Phillips.

Kendricks played a key role in helping the Eagles earn their first Super Bowl title in franchise history, and there’s no question his presence would make the Rams’ defense even more dangerous of a unit, so let’s see what happens over the next few days.
