Los Angeles Rams COO Kevin Demoff weighs-in on the Aaron Donald stalemate that looks nowhere close to being resolved soon.

It was with a bit of an eye roll that I read the comments of Los Angeles Rams COO Kevin Demoff on the stalemate with defensive tackle Aaron Donald. As the saga in LA rolls into another long hot summer, the talk of wanting to get a deal done is significantly more than a deal actually getting done.

Been there, done that.

Credit Demoff for at least speaking with a bit of levity in his comments, yet realize he may not be too far off with what could be a cryptic kind of response.

“Well, it will be done before the stadium’s done” Demoff would joke.

LOL, ugh.

One thing that has emerged during this year-two of the Donald Watch, is the hopeful tone from the Rams organization not matching any sort of urgency in getting the top defensive tackle taken care of.

"“Nah, we’re going to keep wishing and hoping. I hope it’s done sooner than training camp, but if it goes to training camp, our goal is to make sure it’s done and that he feels rewarded and that it’s a win-win deal for both sides.”"

Let hope spring eternal.

Hey, I get it. It’s the sausage making. But don’t pretend that “win-win” necessarily mean 50-50, and I don’t know of a lot of organization who blink first, especially with a defensive tackle.

Do I think this eventually winds itself to a deal? Yes, but not before the requisite pain is felt with fans and the Donald camp.

So, Demoff has weighed in with some hope and some wish-casting.

After nearly a year and a half, it’s also worth noting that there is little indication this ends soon. But with Demoff, he’s offering all the right spin to offer fans all the hope they need.

“Working on it.”
“Pushing forward.”
“Dialogue’s been great.”

Like I said: been there, done that. Wish-casting at its best.
