Time for the Rams to deliver to their fan base just like the Lakers have to theirs

With the Lakers delivering LeBron James to their fan base, its time now for the Los Angeles Rams to do the same, and get a deal with Aaron Donald completed.

The good feelz wafting about in LA aren’t just about the prospects of the Los Angeles Rams having a viable shot at a Super Bowl. Like it or not, it’s the Los Angeles Lakers signing LeBron James that has stolen some of that thunder from the other home team.

Most interesting is how this affects, or may not, what happens with Rams and defensive tackle Aaron Donald.

Now before you say “can’t possibly,” I ask if bringing LeBron to LA could inspire the need to keep up with the Jones’.

Let’s be honest, the Rams have crossed the threshold and are now relevant in Hollywood. So it’s hard to imagine a scenario where you allow the best player in the NBA to be signed, sealed, and delivered to LA, and the best player in the NFL (also in LA) to exist in contract limbo.

Hey, this is Los Angeles where appearances are everything, and Rams COO Kevin Demoff may have said it best: “I think when you build stadiums like this, it’s with players Aaron Donald in mind.”

So could James be the igniter that inspires the Rams to not just get it right with AD, but get it done at a faster clip?

It could, especially if the rank and file in the Rams locker room begin to openly talk about such an issue beyond the overwhelming social media welcome LeBron has received.

Don’t forget that in this day and age, social media has become the loudest voice, for better AND for worse, that athletes have when advocating for what they believe in and what they want.

And let’s be honest, fans in Los Angeles want to see this deal behind them as much as AD and his teammates do.

Eventually, something has to give.

One thing is for sure, and that is the star power in Los Angeles has become brighter than ever. Both the Rams and the Lakers have made LA the epicenter of the sports universe.

That’s not an overstatement.

But the braintrust in LA has to know that the signing of LeBron, while great news for fans, also shines a light on what the Rams haven’t been able to get done.

The Lakers have delivered for their fan base. Time for the Rams to do the same.
