Aaron Donald of the Los Angeles Rams continues to make a name for himself as a top defender in the NFL.

Sooner or later, the Los Angeles Rams will need to finally address the contract situation with Aaron Donald, as all signs at the moment point to the star defender heading towards training camp without a new deal for a second year in a row.

While the Rams were able to get away with holding off a new deal last summer since he had two years remaining, the situation is the complete opposite this time around for Donald.

Since Donald is entering the final year of his current deal, Los Angeles has claimed for months they wanted to get a new deal in place, yet it’s July and nothing has happened.

Los Angeles knows the last thing they can afford is to make Donald unhappy for a second year in a row during training camp, and when seeing how negotiations seem to have been dragging on since the 2017 regular season, it continues to be frustrating.

Without question, Donald is one of those rare talents that deserves every penny of whatever new hefty deal he eventually receives when looking at the impact he’s made during his first four NFL seasons.

Trying to contain Donald has proven to be impossible at times for opponents, and when seeing how Bleacher Report recently named the four-time Pro Bowler the most unblockable pass-rusher, nobody should seem surprised.

The fact that Donald is coming off another career season in which he recorded 11 sacks to go along with five forced fumbles despite the extra attention from opponents is just one of many examples of why he’s considered one of the best at what he does. And with Los Angeles making their line even more dangerous this offseason with the signing Ndamukong Suh, one can only imagine how much this is going to benefit Donald in 2018.

Of course, before looking ahead to the 2018 season, the Rams need to do what’s most important first, which is reward Donald with the new contract he clearly deserves.

Assuming that ends up getting taken care of at some point, chances are Donald will continue to prove he deserves the honors of the most unblockable pass-rusher while putting the Rams in better position to live up to their hype of being a Super Bowl contender.
