Los Angeles Rams: 3 ways Jared Goff can become top quarterback in NFC West
By Dan Parzych
3. Top last year’s numbers
For a quarterback in his first full season as the starter in 2017, the Rams had every reason in the world to be thrilled with the kind of production Goff put together in his sophomore campaign. And if all continues to go well for the Los Angeles quarterback, Goff’s numbers will only continue to improve with experience.
Not to mention, Goff has an upper advantage over some of the other quarterbacks across the league since he benefits from playing in an offense run by McVay, who has already proven to be an offensive mastermind after just one season as head coach. But with Wilson continuing to make a strong case for being one of the NFL’s top quarterbacks after setting a career high in 2017 with 34 touchdown passes, it’s easy to see why he is better than Goff right at this very moment.
Plus, when seeing how Wilson has started every single game over the last six years for Seattle during the regular season, and has never thrown more than 11 interceptions, it’s tough to top those impressive numbers. At least from Goff’s perspective, the weapons he is fortunate enough to work with on offense gives him a better chance of posting better numbers in 2018, even if it’s always easier said than done.
