Los Angeles Rams: 3 ways Jared Goff can become top quarterback in NFC West

2. Make sure Rams win division again
While the 2017 season was filled with plenty of major surprises, the argument can be made that Los Angeles winning the NFC West ranks near the top of the list when looking at the original expectations for the team last summer. After coming off a horrendous 2016 campaign in which they won just four games while averaging 14 points per game, everybody expected the Rams to go through a year of rebuilding under McVay in year one.
Instead, Los Angeles emerged as one of the top contenders in the NFC, and became the team to beat in the division after taking the reign from Seattle. All of a sudden, it’s the Rams that will enter the new season as the early favorites to repeat as champions in the division, although that’s always easier said than done.
Unlike last season, Los Angeles will now be the team with targets on their backs as the ones to overtake, whether it ends up being Seattle or the San Francisco 49ers. Goff helped the Rams pull off the unthinkable last year to take home the division title, and now it’s up to the young quarterback to put his team in the best position to let it happen again to avoid the one-hit wonder label.
