A tweet by Aaron Donald makes it seem like the defensive star is sending the Los Angeles Rams a message about running out of time over a new contract.

With the Los Angeles Rams continuing to prepare for their first preseason game of 2018 against the Baltimore Ravens next week, the frustration continues to pile up over Aaron Donald being without a contract at this point in training camp.

After seeing the results of last year in which he missed all of camp and preseason, Rams fans were hopeful that the two parties would have reached an agreement by now. Instead, it looks like this holdout by Donald is going to continue for most of August, especially when hearing the recent interview by Kevin Demoff, claiming the two sides are struggling to reach an agreement.

Whether Los Angeles believes they could still be successful without Donald or not, the truth is he deserves to be paid as one of the league’s top defensive players, and the longer this situation drags on, the more frustrating it’s going to be.

Even Ndamukong Suh recently stated how he believed Donald deserves to be making more money than him, so to see this drag on as long as it has is absolutely ridiculous.

For obvious reasons, the Rams should be trying to do whatever it takes to make sure Donald ends up being around for the long run, and the last thing they can afford is to have him unhappy heading into the 2018 regular season.

Even more concerning, Donald’s tweet from Friday morning makes it seem like he’s trying to send a message to the Rams about how the team is running out of time to pay him the hefty contract he’s been fighting for since last summer.

While the argument can be made there’s no reason to make a big deal over a simple tweet, it doesn’t take a rocket scientist to figure out this is Donald sending the team a clear message to hurry up. Not to mention, Donald isn’t really that active on Twitter since his last message came in the middle of July, so it seems clear what his intentions were.

Expectations are higher than ever for Los Angeles heading into Sean McVay‘s second season with the team. And even though the defense would most likely be just fine without Donald since the team signed Suh in the offseason, Donald’s presence takes this defensive unit to a whole new level.

Remember how a few weeks ago some fans felt confident in a Donald deal getting done sooner rather than later? Well, after this surprise tweet by Donald, it’s safe to say this holdout isn’t going to end anytime soon since the Rams were reminded they may be “running out of time” after this latest message.
