Los Angeles Rams: 4 key observations from unofficial depth chart for 2018 preseason
By Dan Parzych
1. Donald listed as starter
Only time will tell when it comes to seeing how this whole contract situations turns out for Donald and the Rams, but based off reports from last week, it’s not looking good for both parties. The fact that Kevin Demoff recently gave an interview that made it clear both parties are nowhere close to reaching an agreement makes it seem like this could drag on for all of August, if not the regular season.
From a defensive mindset, Donald has quickly proven to be one of the best players in the NFL, and while his numbers (11 sacks, five forced fumbles in 2017) may not stick out like some of the other players at his position, keep in mind he did so while receiving extra attention from opponents. Plus, when seeing how the Rams landed one of the top free agents in Ndamukong Suh this offseason, there was plenty of excitement surrounding the defensive star lining up alongside Donald in 2018.
The thought of these two lining up each play will cause nothing but nightmares for opposing quarterbacks. And while the defense will still be in great shape with Suh in the picture, the presence of Donald as well could take the unit to a whole new level.
