Week 1 of the 2018 preseason has the Los Angeles Rams in Baltimore for a game against the Baltimore Ravens. What can fans expect? Well, as the exhibition has shown us the last few years, not a whole lot. But at least it’s football, and that is a welcome sight.

Finally, the Los Angeles Rams will play some real football this week when they take on the Baltimore Ravens during their first action of preseason.

For Baltimore. It’s their second game after beating the Chicago Bears in the annual Hall of Fame Fame game. As for Los Angeles, it’s the first of four the team will play before it gets real come Sept. 10 at Oakland.

For fans, there are some things to look forward to, even in a game where the first team isn’t likely to get many snaps. But hey, it’s football, and that’s the bottom line.

One thing many NFL watchers will begin to see, is this much ballyhooed defense featuring big names like Aqib Talib, Marcus Peters, and Ndamukong Suh.

Fans can also take note of a unit sans All-Everything Aaron Donald. It might be a look that will drag into the regular season. Something many may need to get used too.

On offense, we get another look at quarterback Jared Goff, coming off of his best effort thus far into year three of his career. He’ll have a running back in Todd Gurley fresh off a new deal, as is his newest pass catcher, Brandin Cooks.

Clearly, fans shouldn’t expect to see much of these big ticket names in Baltimore come Thursday night. That’s typical.

But hey, it’s real football, mostly.
