Here are four key takeaways for the Los Angeles Rams from their preseason loss to the Baltimore Ravens on Thursday.
Even though most of the starters didn’t play, and it was only preseason, the Los Angeles Rams looked absolutely horrendous during Thursday’s game against the Baltimore Ravens, in which they ended up losing 33-7. The fact that it took the Rams until the fourth quarter just to put up their first and only points of the game shows just how rough of an outing this meeting with the Ravens was, as there are plenty of interesting takeaways to discuss.
Obviously, it’s tough to make that big of a deal since it was in fact a preseason game, but also if these are a majority of the players looking to make a case over earning a roster spot on Los Angeles, the team should feel concerned. Preseason is when some players emerge out of nowhere against all odds to earn the rights to be on the 53-man roster, and while some players from Thursday will in fact be part of the squad in Week 1, there are some concerns.
Take a look at backup quarterback Sean Mannion, who was hoping to take advantage of additional playing time with Jared Goff sitting out against the Ravens, only to end up having a horrendous outing on Thursday.
But before getting into more details on Mannion’s performance to forget, here are four key takeaways from Los Angeles during their brutal loss to Baltimore in Week 1 of preseason, which they will hopefully take some into consideration before next week’s preseason game against the Oakland Raiders.
