2. Hodge making strong case for roster spot

The Rams realize just how fortunate they are to have a trio of talented receivers in Brandin Cooks, Robert Woods, and Cooper Kupp, but it’s going to be interesting to see which players end up earning the No. 4 and No. 5 spot at receiver. Plus, with Tavon Austin no longer in the picture after the team traded the speedster to the Dallas Cowboys during the draft, 2018 will be filled with opportunity for some of the younger members on Los Angeles to step up at receiver.

Mike Thomas, Pharoh Cooper, and Josh Reynolds were expected to make strong cases for the position, but the one surprise impact player from the last two weeks has been KhaDarel Hodge. Joining the Rams in July as an undrafted free agent, Hodge knew he was considered a long shot to make the roster heading into training camp, but that dream could become a reality when looking at how great the wideout has looked over the first two preseason game.

One week after scoring the only touchdown for the Rams during their loss to the Ravens, Hodge came up with a big 47-yard catch against the Raiders on Saturday, and finished the game with two catches for 57 yards. Depending on what happens over the next two weeks, could Hodge earn a surprise roster spot for Los Angeles during the 2018 season?
