2. Good test against strong contender

Despite the disappointing results of last season, the Texans are viewed as one of those teams expected to bounce back as a legitimate contender in the AFC since some of their key players are finally healthy again. While the defense will be thrilled to hopefully see J.J. Watt return to his effective ways from a few years ago, the offense is even more excited to have Deshaun Watson back under center after his rookie campaign was cut short as a result of a torn ACL.

Staying healthy is going to be the biggest factor for Houston when it comes to whether this team has what it takes to become a serious contender again in the AFC, but at least for now, facing the team will be a good test for Los Angeles. To be the best, a team has to challenge the best, and the Rams know this is another opportunity to show they have what it takes to live up to the hype.

Even if the starters are limited to one half, it will still benefit Los Angeles to see how they look against another contender. And who knows, depending on how things play out for both teams during the regular season, maybe this will turn out to be an early Super Bowl preview, although jumping that far ahead over a preseason game sounds ridiculous to even think about at this point.
