1. Good idea over where Rams stand

At this point in August, there’s every reason to believe the Rams will live up to the hype of being a serious contender in the NFC, assuming that everyone manages to stay healthy for the most part to remain competitive. But a previous seasons have shown, just because a team has high expectations heading into a new season doesn’t always mean everything goes according to plan since the true test for a team is proving they can live up to the hype.

Saturday’s preseason game won’t determine what the 2018 season will be like for Los Angeles, but at least it will give football fans a better idea of where the team stands at the moment since Week 1 is right around the corner. Best case scenario, McVay sees his starter play at a high level, and find little trouble putting up points against the Texans to show they’ll be ready to go for that first big meeting against the Raiders during that first weekend of action in September.

If not, well at least McVay will have a few more weeks to help the Rams get on the necessary track to put them in a much better position heading into September. Week 3 is always considered a dress rehearsal in the preseason, and it’s time to see what Los Angeles looks like against Houston to get a better feel for McVay’s squad.
