3. Cooper scores

Just like every other team in the NFL, Los Angeles had a few position battles worth monitoring heading into preseason, especially when it comes to the wide receiver position when looking at the talent Jared Goff had to work with. Brandin Cooks, Robert Woods, and Cooper Kupp already have the top three spots at receiver locked up since they’re going to be three of Goff’s favorite targets, but beyond the trio it was still a mystery for the Rams.

Throughout training camp and preseason, Pharoh Cooper, Josh Reynolds, and Mike Thomas were expected to compete with one another for playing time at the receiver position beyond the top three receivers of Los Angeles. But up until the game against the Texans, these three players hadn’t really done much to stand out, that is until Cooper came through.

First off, Los Angeles fans know that Cooper is most valuable on special teams, so it’s not really that big of a deal if he isn’t as involved in receiving game. However, Cooper made it clear months ago that he would love to be more involved on offense by stepping up his game at receiver, and seeing him score a touchdown against Houston the way he did will certainly boot that confidence.
