5. Landry Jones

Despite some of the rumors that he was closer to retirement, Ben Roethlisberger seems like he’s going to continue try playing football for as long as his body will allow it, which the Pittsburgh Steelers are obviously fine with. The longer Big Ben is under center, the better chance the Steelers are going to have at being a top contender in the AFC at the start of each season, especially when looking at the weapons he has to work with on offense.

As for the backups, Pittsburgh used one of their draft picks this year on Mason Rudolph in what seemed like a decision to make him the future successor when the time does come for Roethlisberger to call it a career. Since that appears to be the case, Landry Jones has seen his name thrown around in recent trade talk for teams looking to add some depth at the quarterback position, and it’s easy to understand why.

Jones hasn’t received that many opportunities to display his skills when it matters the most over the years during regular season games, but Pittsburgh has always felt confident enough in his ability to fill in if needed for Roethlisberger. When compared to Mannion, it’s not even worth debating who is the better quarterback since Jones has him beat by a long shot.
