2018 NFL Power Rankings Week 2: Los Angeles Rams crush Oakland Raiders 33-13

20. Tennessee Titans
Between finding out that Delanie Walker will now miss the rest of the season to Marcus Mariota leaving Sunday’s game with an elbow injury, Week 1 was an absolute nightmare for the Tennessee Titans, and there’s no way to sugarcoat it. After last year’s surprise success that resulted in the team reaching the Divisional Round of the playoffs, the Titans were hoping to pick right up where they left off heading into the 2018 season, only to end up losing to the Miami Dolphins on Sunday.
Nobody should be fooled by the final 27-20 score since 17 of Tennessee’s points came in the fourth quarter, as this team will patiently wait to see the status of Mariota, although there is hope that it’s only minor. Football fans can say what they want about Mariota after the former Oregon star tossed more interceptions than touchdowns during last season, but if this team is going to have any chance at earning another trip to the playoffs, it will fall on the quarterback’s shoulders.
Mariota has proven to be most effective when using his legs, and the Titans have put him in a great position to succeed with the weapons he has to work with on offense. But before looking too far ahead to the future, the most important factor for Mariota is making sure he’s ready to go for Week 2 following Sunday’s injury.
