The Cardinals were pretty average to bad in their Week 1 loss to a Redskins team who is also a riddle in the NFC East. Arizona has Bradford going again in their Week 2 game against a Rams team many have marked big things for in 2018. But after a bad debut in the desert, many wonder if it’s not already time to roll the dice and go with rookie quarterback Josh Rosen.
Really?
Pulling the plug on Bradford, who isn’t terrible when healthy, would be the same as pulling the plug on the season.
Rosen, who was an absolute steal for the Cardinals when he fell to them in the 2018 NFL Draft, was said to be the most “NFL ready” of all the quarterbacks who were selected last spring.
He may be.
But some actually see the Cardinals as better than most predicted this season.
They won’t be. But it’s also too early to say that Rosen should be at the top of the QB depth chart in Arizona after a bad Week 1 loss and performance by Bradford.
That could change after their game against the Rams. Los Angeles, who I believe will completely dismantled the Cardinals on Sunday, may look to make such a move but even then, that would be to early.
Rosen at the controls now is an overreaction. Arizona won’t be a playoff team in 2018, but that’s hardly Bradford’s fault.
