As for the Rams offense, they get a grade of A- for a solid game against the Cardinals.
Fact is, fans should have expected them to get at least an A- for their game against the Cardinals.
So here is the thing Rams fans, against a team closer to the bottom than the top, shouldn’t the offense and quarterback Jared Goff have an A+ for a game grade?
Beating the teams they should is critical in a championship run, and the Cardinals fit nicely into the list of teams the Rams offense should do well against. Scoring 34 points is logical and expected.
Running back Todd Gurley had another exceptional game, scoring three touchdowns. And while he didn’t lead the team in rushing, it’s no secret that the Rams offense will flow through him. His 42 yards on 19 carries isn’t always indicative of how he contributes as he attracts so much attention from opposing defenses with and without the football. Backup RB Malcolm Brown actually had four more yards than Gurley (46 yards on 12 carries), but the Rams game plan is clear who is at the top of the list when Sean McVay puts his offensive game plan together.
As for the Rams passing game, it is where it should be. Quarterback Jared Goff offered a workmanlike like performance, kicking in 24 completions on 32 attempts for 354 yards, 1 touchdown and 1 interception. Nothing to indicate anything other than a complimentary game against a team he should be able to do more against.
