Week 3 brings a cross-town matchup featuring two potential Super Bowl contenders in the the Los Angeles Dodgers and the Los Angeles Chargers.

The Los Angeles Rams get a good early season test before getting another in Week 4 against the Minnesota Vikings. But before the Vikes, they have to deal with cross-town rival, the Los Angeles Chargers.

It’s still hard to say, “Los Angeles Chargers” but they will be harder to ignore come Sunday. The Chargers are also more than a few analysts’ favorite to go to the Super Bowl in Atlanta.

Then again, so are the Rams.

Los Angeles also gets to see a likely post-season contender in this early 2018 NFL season in the Chargers, as neither the Oakland Raiders or Arizona Cardinals proved much more than a tune-up to what will be a September ending with two quality opponents.

The Rams, who are 2-0, will bring probably the best team top to bottom in the league against a Chargers team who has one of the best quarterbacks in Philip Rivers, a solid running back featuring Melvin Gordon, and the hopes of everyone who goes to StubHub to watch then across town.

Then again, there’s that whole Battle for LA thing.

If fans have one thing to keep in mind, it’s the possibility that the Rams get caught looking ahead to next Thursday night against another Super Bowl contender, Minnesota.
