The Los Angeles Rams look to have established an edge for the Super Bowl as they beat the Los Angeles Chargers 35-23 in the Coliseum.

The Los Angeles Rams beat the Los Angeles Chargers 35-23 in a game that was fodder for the LA fan base. Hey, I’m ready to stop pretending. Quarterback Jared Goff had a solid day, throwing for 354 yards, on 29/36 and three touchdowns. For fun, running back Todd Gurley would rush for 105 yards, plus another touchdown.

Bottom line, the Rams look to be the presumed real deal heading into a game with the Minnestoa Vikings on Thursday night, who lost today to NFC East cellar-dweller the Buffalo Bills 27-6, for NFC Conference seniority decided before the calendar even turns to October.

LA fans have to love that.

Hey, I’ve been a critic of Goff, but on a day I thought he’d struggle, he’d also be the trigger-man for a big day on the Rams statistical sheet. He’d benefit from another solid outing from his running back, as the Chargers would never really be a challenge for the real home-town team.

The Rams are now trending towards a season long favorite out of the NFC, and Week 3 is a game where the Rams established themselves as a bonafide frontrunner.

At least that’s where the smart money is. As an NFL cynic, I’ve picked against the Rams this season, and I probably will again.

But I’ll have to admit that the Rams may be destined for some amazing things.

At the very least, an NFC West title.

The Rams are the top of the class heading into the quarter pole of the NFL schedule. If they can make it into October 4-0, LA is in position to do some amazing things.
