Week 4 has the Los Angeles Rams hosting the Minnesota Vikings in an NFC Showdown on Thursday Night Football.

The Los Angeles Rams are 3-0, and for all the world, the next Super Bowl champions.

Whoa, slow your roll. Week 4 against the Minnesota Vikings should say a lot about a team whose glide slope to the top looks unstoppable, but just keep in mind that the NFL isn’t always so kind to the presumptive favorite.

Thursday Night Football, fresh off of a breakout performance from top overall pick Baker Mayfield, gets the newest version of America’s Team in the Rams. Los Angeles, who answered the bell against their cross-town rival the Los Angeles Chargers, gets another solid test in a Vikings team who looked an absolute mess against the Buffalo Bills.

For LA, a win would give them a 4-0 record heading into October, and given the state of the league, a likely presumptive favorite label.

But are they?

It’s hard to find anyone who thinks they aren’t.

As cynical as I tend to be, it’s hard to deny the Rams are not the real deal. The Chargers, clearly the best team they have faced in 2018 had no answers, and quarterback Jared Goff and the rest of the offense seemed able to score at their own discretion.

Should the Rams beat the Vikings, Los Angeles will enter October with a substantial target on their back. Road games at the Seattle Seahawks, Denver Broncos, and San Francisco 49ers only lead to a showdown against sure HOF’er Aaron Rodgers and the Green Bay Packers in the Coliseum.

After September, those may all be very winnable games.

First up though is Minnesota, and a team looking to redeem.
