The Los Angeles Rams have the opportunity to take a giant leap forward on Thursday night. The Week 4 game against the Vikings can springboard them to 4-0, and in the driver’s seat in both the NFC West, and in the NFC. Bottom line, the perceived best team in the NFC will also be the best team in the National Football League.

As a cynic, I don’t mind saying it’s a pleasant proposition to write that I clearly underestimated the Rams. While I’ll hold the line on Goff being a very good system quarterback, the balance of Los Angeles is solid, even with a few injuries.

All that said, McVay is in control of the best roster, and clearly the best talent in the league. Thursday night is essentially an opportunity to show that in front of a national TV audience.

If LA wins, they will leave little doubt about who is easily the best team. A win also says that the best talent in the NFL wears Rams colors.

Rams versus Vikings can and will set the tone for the conference. With the best teams squarely not in the AFC, Los Angeles and Minnesota is a preview of who could be be in Atlanta for the Super Bowl.

Odds are most will see that team being the Rams.
