Here are three reasons why Los Angeles Rams quarterback Jared Goff just took a major leap into the MVP conversation following Week 4.

Back in 2016, the Los Angeles Rams took a major risk by giving up a future first-round pick to move up in the NFL Draft to select Jared Goff after the quarterback put together quite the impressive career at California. And even though there were some doubts after going 0-7 as a rookie heading into last season, nobody is questioning Goff’s abilities anymore when it comes to being the answer the Rams have been waiting for at quarterback.

Plus, when looking at the lack of weapons Goff had to work with as a rookie along with the poor protection he received from the offensive line, it’s easy to see why he struggled so much as a rookie in Los Angeles. But thanks to the hiring of Sean McVay that resulted in the offense immediately making the necessary adjustments to get on the right track, Goff and the Rams have quickly become one of the most dangerous offensive units in all of football.

After helping Los Angeles emerge as one of the biggest surprise contenders last season along with the team winning the NFC West title, nobody was surprised to see Goff eventually earn a spot in the Pro Bowl, although it would have been better to see them make a deeper playoff run. Still, just the fact that Goff was able to finish his first full season as the starter by throwing for 3,804 yards to go along with 28 touchdowns and just seven interceptions shows how special of a quarterback he truly is.

Even more exciting, early indications point to Goff crushing those numbers from last season, and finishing with career highs in most categories. Not to mention, after seeing his career night against the Minnesota Vikings on Thursday, Goff clearly deserves to be in the MVP conversation for the Rams.

In fact, here are three reasons why the third-year quarterback just took a major leap when it comes to building a strong case for being part of the conversation since Goff is playing at a MVP level after the first month of the 2018 season.
