1. Perfect quarterback for McVay’s offense

Los Angeles knew at the time that hiring McVay as the youngest head coach in NFL history was going to be a huge risk since many questioned whether the former offensive coordinator was ready to handle the major responsibilities. Not to mention, there were a handful of other strong candidates the Rams easily could have gone with, but thank goodness they decided to go with McVay when they did.

Otherwise, who knows how different things would have been for Los Angeles over the last two seasons, especially when it comes to the play of Goff. One of the main reasons why the Rams were so high on McVay during their search for a head coach was due to his previous experience working with quarterback, and helping them reach new levels, with Kirk Cousins being one of his best success stories.

Right away in 2017, Goff wasted no time proving how great of a fit he was in McVay’s offense, and it’s been amazing to see the progress already made in such a short period of time. With the rate he’s going, McVay’s offense could end up being a major reason why Goff finds his name in the MVP conversation when the time comes, and the Rams couldn’t ask for a better quarterback under center.
