2. Defense steps up when needed

Whether they wanted to hear it or not, the Rams’ defense knew they were going to have their hands quite full against a Vikings’ offense consisting of Kirk Cousins having plenty of weapons to work with such as Stefon Diggs and Adam Thielen. And even though it look the defense of Los Angeles a bit longer than expected to record their first sack along with allowing Minnesota to put up 31 points, the unit deserves credit for stepping up when needed.

Whether it was two sacks by Aaron Donald or Ndamukong Suh making his presence felt with a sack on his end as well along with a recovered fumble, the Rams continue to show just how dangerous their defense can be. Keeping a quarterback like Cousins in check is never an easy task, and even though he did end up finishing with 422 passing yards to go along with three touchdowns, the Rams’ defense allowing just 11 points in the second half was huge.

As much credit as the offense receives, Los Angeles knows their defense also sets them apart from other teams in the league. By helping the Rams finish the month of September with a 4-0 record, the defense seems to be just getting started on hitting their true potential.
