Seattle quarterback Russell Wilson is on an average team going nowhere special in 2018. For those who may have thought the once mighty Seahawks had one last hurrah in them, think again.

They don’t.

The writing was on the wall last season in a Week 15 game when the Rams effectively broke the stranglehold Wilson and Seattle had on the NFC West, winning on the road 42-7.

Look for more of that this year in Week 5.

As good as Wilson has been in years past, he simply no longer has the talent around him to do the things he once did. Previously, when he’d break out of the pocket and make a play, he was doing just that.

Now, he’s simply looking to avoid a big hit.

The Rams defense will once again stifle Wilson and the Seahawks. There won’t be any magic to his game or many points either. Week 5 will simply be a reminder of just how far behind Los Angeles they now are.

Look for Wilson to struggle against a Rams defense who knows him well. Injuries aside, LA will defend him and force some bad throws leading to a few interceptions.

It’ll also be the game where the best quarterback on the field isn’t in a Seahawks uniform.
