3. Defense heating up, looking to take advantage
Don’t look now, but the defense of the Rams appears to be heating up when looking at the high level of play from the last couple of games, which is exactly what the team was hoping for all along. Entering the offseason, Los Angeles wanted to make it a priority to sign Aaron Donald to a new deal to keep him around for the long run, and even though negotiations took a little longer than expected, the important factor is it got done.
Take this into consideration with the fact that the Rams brought Ndamukong Suh on board to join Donald on the defensive line, one can only imagine how opposing quarterbacks must feel squaring off against Los Angeles each game. And when seeing the recent impact made by Suh and Donald during the team’s Week 4 win over the Minnesota Vikings, it’s clear this unit is beginning to play some of their best football.
Between the two sacks by Donald along with the one from Suh, Russell Wilson knows he could be in for a long afternoon on Sunday, especially if his offensive line fails to do their job by providing the necessary protection. Not to mention, let’s not forget these guys along with the rest of the Rams will be well rested after some additional time off following Week 4.
