1. Gurley adds three touchdowns to season total

Fantasy football owners that were fortunate to land Todd Gurley in their drafts have been all smiles this season when looking at how many times he’s already found the end zone over the first five games. And with the star running back finishing Sunday’s game with three touchdowns to add to his total, this only continues to show why the Rams made the easy decision to reward Gurley with a hefty extension before the start of the regular season.

Finishing with 77 rushing yards on 22 carries may have been disappointing to see, but also the Seahawks’ defense deserves some credit for doing the best they could to keep Gurley in check for the most part. Still, the fact that Gurley can have a rough day like this while finding a way to make an impact in the touchdown department shows how confident Los Angeles is in the MVP runner up from last season.

With nine total touchdowns through five games, early signs point to Gurley topping last year’s numbers (19) to make another strong case for MVP honors when the time comes a few months from now. For now, the Rams are just going to enjoy Gurley recording his second three-touchdown game of the young 2018 season.
