As the last unbeaten team left in the National Football League, only injuries and a questionable defense could slow the Los Angeles Rams down.

As good as the Los Angeles Rams have been in 2018, and they’ve been pretty amazing, injuries and a suspect defense could be two hurdles that are tough to overcome.

This season alone has seen Aqib Talib, Marcus Peters, Brandin Cooks, Greg Zuerlein, and again this weekend Cooper Kupp go down to injuries. Kupp looks to likely miss some time which leaves the best receivers corp in the league down one significant player, and Greg The Leg is due back this Sunday. Also of note, left guard Rodger Saffold sustained a knee injury in the 23-20 win against the Denver Broncos.

Serious stuff and not to be overlooked as the Rams continue to work on a perfect 6-0 record.

Of equal concern is a Los Angeles defense that has been only good when the forecast was they would be great.

Equal to the injuries that appear to be mounting, the Rams defense could be a bigger issue.

LA didn’t need to post 30 or more points against the Broncos in Week 6. While snow and cold were interesting to talk about, the elements may not have been the factor they could have been. Quarterback Jared Goff wasn’t terribly sharp, but running back Todd Gurley made that, the cold, injuries, and an average defense a non-factor.

As for the above mentioned defense, Denver quarterback Case Keenum wasn’t much of a challenge either.

But in Week 7 against a struggling but interesting San Francisco 49ers, injuries won’t be any more a factor than they’ve been, but a defense you can run on and complete passes on may be. The Rams defense just hasn’t quite come together the way fans may have thought they would. The Talib injury aside, Peters has been OK, and the pass rush just hasn’t been anything opposing offenses are intimidated by.

Bottom line, the injuries may slow the Rams, but a bad day on the offensive side of the football will expose a defense opposing teams are showing can be beat.
