Like I said at the beginning, it’s the middle of October and in a 2018 season where the Los Angeles Rams aren’t just 6-0 but maybe the best team in all of the National Football League, anything is possible.

Even using a potential first round pick on a position that has been something of a riddle in LA.

Given the high profile of the tight end position when McVay was an offensive coordinator with the Washington Redskins, the natural if not easy assumption was that such a profile would follow him West to Los Angeles.

Not so much.

Tyler Higbee is not a player you often think of when you think of the Rams high powered offense. That role is often filled by players like Todd Gurley, Robert Woods, and even quarterback Jared Goff. Is it such a leap that as everything else that has worked for McVay and the Rams, that he might take a run at another pass catcher for Goff?

Hey, why not.

One offensive player that might be appealing is tight end Noah Fant from Iowa.

Fant is tall at 6’-5” and is 241 lbs.

The junior was Third team All-Big Ten. He also led all tight ends with 16.5 yards per catch and 11 touchdowns.

Maybe Higbee is the answer, maybe not. But in a season where the Rams may be the best offense in the league, what’s a little more firepower to add to the lineup.
