1. Donald has career day

Sunday’s win over the 49ers was filled with numerous of key factors, whether it was Gurley finding the end zone three times or the offensive line doing a much better job at protecting Jared Goff this time around when compared to Week 6. However, the argument can be made that nothing stood out more than the kind of performance that Aaron Donald put together for Los Angeles on defense with a career high four sacks.

All of a sudden, those football fans questioning whether the Rams overpaid Donald with that hefty new contract before the start of the new season no longer have any doubts when seeing the impact he made against the 49ers. Los Angeles has known for quite some time that Donald is a special player, and seeing him on pace to set a career high in sacks will make the team feel even better about their decision to reward him with that new deal.

Donald’s numbers may not be as high as some of the other defensive players across the league, but also keep in mind that he managed to produce what he did while facing numerous double-teams from opponents. Now that Ndamukong Suh is part of the mix, Donald seems to be benefitting from the presence of his teammate, and Sunday was the perfect example to back that statement up.
