The Los Angeles Rams remain undefeated after a close win against Aaron Rodgers and the Green Bay Packers 29-27 in the Coliseum.
The Los Angeles Rams won a close game against the Green Bay Packers 29-27 to remain undefeated on the season. The Week 8 contest closes the book on the first half of the season and sets up an NFC showdown in Week 9 against the New Orleans Saints.
Los Angeles, who kept Aaron Rodgers and the Packers in the game all afternoon, benefited from a late fumble recovery after Rams kicker Greg Zuerlein kicked a 34 yard field goal with 2:09 left in the fourth quarter to give the Rams a two point lead.
It’s all they would need on Sunday afternoon.
The offensive fireworks many expected didn’t materialize as both starting quarterbacks ran into stubborn defenses.
Rodgers would throw for 286 yards on 30 attempts and 18 completions. He’d also connect for one touchdown and throw zero interceptions.
Rams quarterback Jared Goff would have a similar kind of day throwing for 295 on 19 completions with 35 attempts. He would add 3 touchdowns and have zero interceptions.
As usual, LA running back Todd Gurley would have another solid day as his quest for a league MVP continues to heat up. The Rams running back would rush for 114 yards on 25 carries. He wouldn’t find the end zone but got the biggest first down late in the game allowing the Rams to run out the clock and keep their unbeaten streak going for one more week.
The Rams now move to 8-0 and remain undefeated on the 2018 season. The win sets up a monster game in Week 9 against NFC South leader New Orleans Saints and quarterback Drew Brees. Both teams look to figure large in the NFC with defending champion Philadelphia Eagles struggling a year after winning their first Super Bowl.
