The saying that everything that goes up must come down is reasonable in today’s NFL. Remaining undefeated for 16 games over 17 weeks seems an almost impossible proposition, but in Week 9, the Los Angeles Rams will make such an attempt against the New Orleans Saints.

They may not be very successful in doing so.

Bottom line is the Rams defense has been suspect for 8 weeks, and a quarterback like Drew Brees will exploit that to his and the Saints benefit. Some in the media think that LA may be something of a paper tiger, but being undefeated over 8 weeks in the NFL should dispel such a myth.

All that said, Week 9 against New Orleans won’t be like going up the coast for games against the Oakland Raiders or the San Francisco 49ers. The Saints are a legitimate Super Bowl contender as are the Rams. But being on the road in New Orleans may expose a Rams team who looks to not be steam-rolling the better teams in the league, as last Sunday showed against the Green Bay Packers.

The Rams are good, very good. But in New Orleans, they may not be the best team on the field for the first time in 2018. It’s a loss for LA, and it won’t be the last one this season.
