Perhaps one silver lining to shine through the Week 9 loss at New Orleans is quarterback Jared Goff. Goff, despite an interception, looked poised throughout the game even when his team was rallying to get tied with the Saints.

That’s a positive sign, and one that will serve the Rams well down the road in 2018 and certainly as his career progresses.

Goff truly has become an extension of McVay on the field. Even in a loss, a loss LA had a shot at winning late in the fourth, the numbers show a quarterback who had his team in the mix. Goff would throw for 391 yards on 40 attempts and complete 28 passes. He did have an interception, but also tossed three touchdown passes.

The Rams quarterback nearly managed what would have been a monster comeback with 21 unanswered points, and if the LA defense would have been able to hold the line against the Saints, Los Angeles might still be undefeated heading into Week 10.

As someone who has been a critic of Goff, the growth is undeniable. For two straight weeks, he’s gone toe-to-toe with two HOF’ers, besting one in Aaron Rodgers, and nearly doing the same on the road against Drew Brees.
