Los Angeles Rams running back Todd Gurley is in the perfect position to tie his touchdown career high this weekend with a meeting against the Seattle Seahawks.

Despite coming off their first loss of 2018 last weekend in a tough battle with the New Orleans Saints, the Los Angeles Rams still have every reason to believe they’re going to be a top contender in the NFC, especially with Todd Gurley at running back.

After proving doubters wrong last year by finishing second to Tom Brady in the MVP race by recording 2,093 yards from scrimmage with 19 total touchdowns, Gurley knew it would be difficult to match those numbers again this season. But through nine games, all signs point to Gurley crushing his accomplishments from last season when looking at the numbers he’s already put together.

Heading into Sunday’s second meeting with the Seattle Seahawks, Gurley finds himself three touchdowns away from matching last year’s total, which is insane to think about since there will still be six games for Los Angeles after Sunday.

Some football fans may find it hard to believe that Gurley will be able to find the end zone three times since the Seahawks’ defense will be giving the Rams running back extra attention. However, keep in mind what Gurley was able to accomplish back at the beginning of October when facing his division rivals, and there’s every reason to believe this could happen.

During that game, Gurley didn’t exactly have the best performance rushing wise when seeing how he finished with 77 yards on 22 carries, but he did still manage to score three touchdowns as well.

Believe it or not, this has been the case for Gurley on a few occasions throughout the 2018 season, but when seeing how the Rams are 8-1 heading into Week 10, this is what matters the most.

Of course, if Gurley does manage to add three more touchdowns to his total to give him 19 on the year while increasing his impressive streak of finding the end zone, Los Angeles fans won’t mind one bit.

Since Seattle’s defense is far from the effective unit when compared to previous years, Gurley should feel confident in seeing this possibly happening. And if the Rams come through with the win to improve to 9-1 to put them in a position where the division would basically seem like a lock, this would be even better for Gurley and company.
