3. Safety is top priority

Literally, all that needs to be said about this discussion is that if the field conditions are going to put players at serious risk to get hurt, then it’s not even worth playing in Mexico City for the NFL. The last thing the NFL needs to see take place is the Rams, Chiefs, or any other team watch players suffer injuries as a result of a field failing to be in the necessary shape to make it completely safe to play on.

Injuries in the NFL is one of the most difficult things for any player or team to deal with when looking at the amount of work that goes into preparing for each season. Whether they want to admit it or not, some players on both Los Angeles and Kansas City most likely weren’t pleased to hear the news about how they would be participating in the international series by having to travel to Mexico City, and the news surrounding the field conditions just make it even more frustration.

Even if the league determined in the next day or so that the playing conditions would be just fine, the NFL has to take into consideration the mental aspect of some players still worrying about it. For a league that always seems to go out of their way with rule changes over player safety, how can they be supportive of some of their other decisions if they were to make players take part in a game like this?
