I’ll be honest, Monday Night Football is no longer a staple when it comes to football viewing. In fact, and I’ve said it before, the way that they have set up the Sunday Night game is just better, plain and simple. That said, it is kind of a crap-shoot when they do make the schedule for the ESPN games.

But let’s not kid ourselves, the Los Angeles Rams and the Kansas City Chiefs is just what that network on that night has needed. It’s even bigger now that it is not being played in Mexico City, and having this game in LA is an absolute gift to the league and their fans.

As for how it all plays out, it’s probably not that complicated.

Everyone knows going in that the scoreboard lights in the Coliseum will be lit up. Touchdowns will come in the bunches for both teams, and given they each have a bye week immediately after this Week 11 game, they’ll be compelled to leave it all on the field before playing again on December 2.

We also know that at 9-1, both teams bring solid credentials beyond what happens on Monday night.

Both will still be in the talk for the Super Bowl. Mahomes and Gurley will still be the leaders in the MVP debate. And while one team is 9-2 and the other is 10-1, little will lose much beyond one team sliding a game in their respective conferences.

A lot of points.
Two great coaches.
Two great quarterbacks, MVP candidates, and a lot of star power at the Coliseum for this titanic kind of prime-time NFL game.
