It’s hard to look at the 2018 Los Angeles Rams and wonder what this team would look like if their defense was better. Perhaps they’d still be 10-1, remarkable all things considered, or even 11-0 and looking virtually unstoppable.

It’s not even worth considering.

The Rams are 10-1 in the here-and-now, and short of something cataclysmic happening, are in the mix for a top seed in the NFC, and perhaps a long run into February.

McVay has captured lighting a bottle. Week 11 showed what is truly capable from this offense, and at the very least demonstrated that if need be, the Rams have the firepower to compete with anyone and just enough on defense to hold an opponent like the Chiefs or even the Saints at the water’s edge.

11 games in, every single aspiration this team held entering Week 1 still holds. While they’ve had to weather some injuries, and may still have some down the road, the Los Angeles Rams have everything possible in front of them.

One last thing to consider is the how good this team is from top to bottom. While the defense is shaky, they have shown to still be exceptional on special teams, especially punter Johnny Hekker.

December will be about securing home field advantage come January. With five games to go, you have to like their chances, especially if they can find some answers on defense.
